Post Wise Qualification Details Indian Coast Guard Civilian Posts Recruitment

Civilian MT Driver 10th Std. pass.
  1. Must possess valid driving license far both heavy and light motor vehicles.
  2. Should have at least 02 years' experience in driving motor vehi­cles, and
  3. Knowledge of motor mecha­nism (should be able to remove minor defects in vehicles).
Fork Lift Operator Certificate in the respective trade from ITI or other recognized institutions with not less than one year experience In the trade OR 3 years experience in the trade tor vstlen no training is available in ITI or other recognized institution.
  1. Should possess heavy duty vehicle driving licence_ Desirable:-
  2. 10th Std. pass.
  3. Knowledge of English.
MT Fitter/ MT(Mech) Matriculation or equivalent and 02 years' experience in automobile workshop. Desirable: ITI diploma in relevant trade.
Fireman Matriculation pass from a recognized Board or equivalent. Should be physically fit and capable of performing strenuous duties. Note:- The physical fitness shall be tested as per the following physical standards:-
  1. Height without Shoes-165 Cms provided that a concession of 2.5 Cms In height shall be allowed for members of the Scheduled Tribes and candidates of hilly areas.
  2. Chest (unexpended) - 81.5 Gins
  3. Chest Ion expansion) - 85 ems
  4. Weight- 50 Kg (Min)
  5. Endurance Test:
(aa) Carrying a man weighing 83.5 Kgs by fireman lift up to a distance of 183 meters within 96 seconds.
(ab) Clearing 2.7 meters wide ditch by landing on both feet (long jump).
(ac) Climbing 3 meters vertical rope by hands and feet.
Engine Driver (a) Certificate of competency as Engine Driver from a recognized Government institute or equivalent. Desirable: Two years service as Sarang on a vessel of over four hundred Boat horse power.
MTS (Chowkidar) (t) Matriculation or equivalent pass,
(ii) Two years' experience as Chowkidar in any recognized Institution or organization.
Lascar
  1. Matriculation pass or its equivalent from recognized boards.
  2. Three years' experience in service on Boat.

Important Note:
All the above posts are falling under the category of General Central Service Group ‘C’, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.
2. Crucial date for fixation of age limit will be the last date of receiving applications.
3. The number of vacancies indicated in this advertisement is provisional and may increase or decrease or even become NIL, depending upon the actual needs of the Region.
4. Indian Coast Guard reserves the right to cancel the entire recruitment at any stage of the recruitment process without assigning any reason.
5. The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum and mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for examination. Photo copies of all educational, technical, caste and experience certificates duly self attested should be attached alongwith two recent passport size photographs.
6. Candidates to bring original documents on the date of written examination. Candidates have to make their own lodging and transportation arrangements for test. In case of any injury/accident occurred during the test, the Govt. will not be held responsible for any compensation/allowance.
7. Written test will be of Objective type. The candidates passed in the written test will be called for trade test, wherever applicable. The pass marks will be 50% in written test. In case of SC and ST candidates, the qualifying marks shall be 45%. Accordingly merit list will be prepared.
8. (c) I understand and agree that in the event of any information being found false or incorrect or incomplete or ineligibility being detected at any point of time before or after selection/interview, my candidature is liable to be rejected and I shall be bound by the decision of the Competent Authority.
10. Candidates in Central Govt. service should submit NOC from their present employer alongwith applications.
11. Shortlisted candidates only will be called for test. Applications are to be forwarded by Ordinary Post only. Applications which are not in the prescribed format, received with unattested certificates, having no photographs or signature of the candidate and those sent by Hand/Courier/Speed post/Registered post or received after due date will be summarily rejected.
12. The selected candidates may be posted initially in any unit/station of Coast Guard Region (NE), Kolkata as approved by the Competent Authority. The decision of Headquarters Coast Guard Region (NE), Kolkata -700161 regarding selection/rejection/posting will be final and no correspondence will be entertained. The appointment carries with it liability to serve in any part of India.
